Historic Cannabis Odor Agreement Signed

Historic Cannabis Odor Agreement Signed
Casey BrownellJanuary 12, 2022Santa Barbara County, CA

A memorandum of understanding was finalized between CARP Growers (CG) and Santa Barbara Coalition for Responsible Cannabis (SBCRC). The agreement fosters collaboration between cultivators and neighboring communities to minimize odors from cultivation and processing operations.

Under the MOU framework, participating growers commit to specific odor control and monitoring requirements; in exchange, SBCRC supports the permitting approval process. The agreement mandates the use of science-based objective odor monitoring technologies to assess the effectiveness of odor mitigation efforts.

VaporSafe® meets that requirement with automated real-time vapor monitoring and response technologies already deployed throughout the cannabis sector. Our analytical and software systems enable rapid emissions assessment, identification of controlling factors, and optimization of mitigation system performance — demonstrating when compliance goals are achieved.
